Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve. It's very difficult to choose where to go; especially this year, since so many people are back. I have roughly about four different invitations; am hoping to be able to make it to two of them. Let's see yeah?

My cousin gave birth this afternoon; around 1 PM. My Dad came in and woke me up (to actually ask me to help clean the store room; not tell me the news -_-) and told me what happened, as she was supposed to give birth sometime in January.

Hey. Hey.
Nggh. What? -_-
Biew jie (older cousin sister in Cantonese) gave birth just now, at 1 PM.
Oh. Really? *waking up a little*
Yes. Cesarean.
What?! *mistakenly thinking that was the baby's name*
She had a Cesarean.
Ohh... Right... Zzz... Wait. Why is she giving birth now? She's not due until next year.
The gynecologist apparently miscalculated.
What? So stupid... Zzz...
Wake up and help me clean the store room.
Zzz...

I seriously thought they called the baby Cesarean. I mean, maybe she was struck by some weird thing that told her to name the baby something special and unique. Cesarean -_- But yay! It's a girl (as expected; we already knew the sex). I'm pretty sure her name is Kayli, because that's the name my cousin thought was nicest. And my auntie and uncle could pronounce it. Lol. So my cousin niece is a New Year's Eve baby. Not a cow as her parents expected. And i mean cow in the Chinese Zodiac.

Anyways, i'm still really groggy from the sleeping pills i took last night. I think i miscalculated when i thought one wasn't strong enough and had another after 45 minutes. So i kept sleeping until just now, and am still a little groggy now. My mom's voice is very loud on the phone from outside and through my doors. From this, i can deduce that my cousin niece is 3 KG. Which is roughly about 8 pounds. Like me. I was 8 pounds when i was born :D

Hunger calls. Ta. And Happy New Year everyone!

Phew

Just got back from a dinner with family friends. Felt the need to blog about how dangerous it is here in Malaysia, and how to not take your safety for granted. We were at Damansara Perdana, outside the Nyonya restaurant Mum's Place. Really good food by the way. Try the cencaru fish, it's AWESOME. But seriously spicy. Worth it though. Anyways. So we were leaving the restaurant; two other families had left already, and i was with my two childhood friends (brother and sister), their parents and my parents. It wasn't really dark or anything; about two or three streetlamps lighting up the area. It was dark where the restaurant was; they just closed up. Around 11 PM.

So we were standing around chit-chatting (parents -_-) and there were some Malay girls on the other side of the road, sitting down, chilling, probably just got off work. The group of us were talking amongst ourselves, when we heard two motorbikes approaching. They were coming from the opposite direction, and the street was quite deserted so the sound of their engines were quite loud. They were Malay or Indonesian, i couldn't tell. Two were on one bike and the other was by himself. They slowed down near where the Malay girls were, then revved up and made a beeline to us. We all instinctively bunched closer together. My aunt, mom and i clutched our bags closer to our bodies as the two bikes neared us and the single rider stopped a few feet away, while the other two circled around us, looking. My aunt was saying "Be careful, they want to rob us." They circled us again, then all sped off, going back across the road and toward the Malay girls, who all hurriedly picked up their belongings and got off the side of the road where they were sitting.

Thank God nothing happened, because i'm pretty sure my aunt was right: they wanted to rob us. All four of us women were carrying bags; mine the biggest. But i think they were discouraged because we were alert immediately and aware of what they were trying to do. Also the fact that my uncle, dad and friend was there. Three guys, four women. They were very outnumbered. So. Heads up people. Don't dilly dally around at night.

YSL

I was helping my Dad spring clean. He was cleaning out his closet while i was cleaning his room light, when i spotted a belt on the bed.

Hey Dad, can i have this? *tries it on* Oh cool it fits. Are you still using it?
Yes, sometimes. Are you sure it fits you?
Yes it fits. If you're still using it then i won't take it. But if you have like other belts you don't want, let me see them first before you throw them away.
Okay. *takes out a bunch of belts* Here.
Oh my God.
What?
Why don't you wear this?!
Oh, my friend gave that to me.
What nice friends you have T_T
It's real you know.
Why don't you wear it?
It's hard to match. You can have it though.
YAY!

Vintage red leather YSL. With gold plated buckle.
I wonder how much it's worth on e-Bay?
I can't believe my Dad had this and i didn't know T_T

Public Service Announcement

PSA.

I just want to say one thing before i start. THANK GOD FOR SAVED CONVERSATIONS SO I CAN BLOG ABOUT ASSHOLES LIKE THIS. Well. Weirdos. Whatever. Anyways.

A couple of weeks ago, i got a random message from someone on MSN whom i didn't have on my list. And yes, i do allow random people to contact me, because there was a situation once where a friend added me and i didn't have her email and she couldn't talk to me to tell me it was her. But we resolved that over the phone so no sweat. Anyways.

peachy is saxion:no.

I kid you not, that is his nickname. So after my pretty firm 'no', i closed the convo. But this guy was persistent. It was freaking 6 in the morning; i was awake and grumpy because i was trying to fix my biological clock and playing WoW on my laggy net and chatting to Caryn at the same time (she was in NZ; that's why she was awake). I told her what had happened, and the mentioned how i should accept the damn webcam and post his nudity all over the internet. But i was lazy and he had gone, but she was keen on the idea so i suggested she add him. But he didn't add her back so too bad. So when he talked to me again, i decided to just play along for a while.

Oh, by the way, i didn't see anything because he pointed the webcam to the floor. At least he's not that stupid.

(8:49 AM) Stripper Roy:Hi!

A Little More Personal

Pictures from the night of the screening i stole from Caryn.

For some reason, i feel we look very Japanese/Korean O_O And i'm feeling very self-conscious about the scar. I mean when i'm out and everything, i feel normal now, but whenever i see pictures i get a bit =/ Seems to be very noticeable and it's starting to annoy me. Which reminds me, i have an appointment in January with the doctor -_-

I was reading some blogs earlier, when i saw a personal post by the author. I was thinking to myself, "God, it must suck to be her boyfriend right now." I always feel slightly bad whenever i read personal posts about people by bloggers who are quite well known because it must feel like the whole world's watching or something. But whatever.

I'm thinking of moving my blog, so heads up people. But don't worry, i'll let you know.

I feel like leaving my hair long and dying it blue.

Christmas

How was Christmas people?

Mine started around 7 PM, when MM picked me up to go to his house. Gave him his present, which i wrapped myself. Well, i made the box more like. He dropped me off and went to his Grandma's. I was left playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero with the guys. God, playing the drummer on Guitar Hero is difficult. Also i have to whack like really hard. Saw lots of people! And played cho dai dee. Got bitten alive by mosquitoes. Damn things.

This was around 9/10 already, when all his mom's friends had left.

Emil stole my hat; guys playing Winning Eleven.

Paderi! With Swedish's Wayfarers.

Jambu.

I think i have like 7 mosquito bites because i spent a lot of time playing 5, 10 with Bing and Ben. Who were playing some hardcore version which involved both losers drinking. Unfair. And that pomegranate vodka concoction was yuck.

Wern!

Swedish, MM. Swedish had like 6 beers by 8 PM.

Bing having an epiphany.

Arran deejaying.

So there was no puking (thank God). Lots of red bull/vodka though. More pictures on Facebook. Which reminds me: Ellie, upload the photos! I know you're in Aussie :) Ta people.

Things To Do

Okay, i got caught. CD tagged me. If you can call that tagging. But i have nothing to do so onwards. The tag is Things to Do Before You Kick the Bucket.

1. Write the story of your life
2. Watch every James Bond film
3. Sing along in a music store
4. Build a snow cave
5. Get in the record books
6. Turn your mobile phone off for a week
7. Run in fancy dress for charity
8. Blow a month’s wages on shoes
9. Paint a self-portrait

Okay, this was not painting per se. I mean it involved some painting. Like, a quarter of it was painted. Wait, let me explain better. It was in Year 9 (or 8, i have the shittiest memory) and we had to do a self portrait for art using different mediums. Mine was paint, pencil and pastel i think. Wow, they all start with 'p'!

10. Bury a time capsule

I remember my high school friends and i saying we would bury that notebook somewhere in GIS. Right now, i think it's buried in one of their rooms. But yes, i have done this before somewhere else.

11. Leave behind a million dollars
12. Learn to play a song
13. Plant a tree and carve your name
14. Go on holiday with no luggage
15. Have a night at the opera
16. Learn a different language
17. Play an elaborate practical joke
18. Host a cocktail party
19. Spend Christmas Day helping out
20. Meditate for 3 hours in one setting
21. Spend a week at sea
22. Get re-married in Vegas
23. Skinny dip at midnight
24. Have a suit hand made
25. Spend the night in a haunted house
26. Make fire the old-fashioned way
27. Swing through the air on a trapeze

Yes, you may be surprised to know, i've actually done this :) And i got a certificate for a knee-hang catch. We left before i could get the bird catch certificate T_T

28. Horse-ride through the surf
29. Read a book a fortnight a year

I read a book everyday so that counts right?

30. Make your own pasta
31. Swim with something big
32. Sleep outdoors watching the stars

Camp, Year 9 (wow, everything happens then) for Outward Bound. Otherwise known as OBS. The horror. We were forced to camp on an island for a night and not shower (unless you wanted to use the rived), cook over wood fires (that was all me for my group) and sleep on nothing. So, me, being scared shitless of the leeches and the ground being very hard on my back, woke up, and slept on the beach with the other people who couldn't sleep.

33. Create an online alter-ego

I'm pretty sure Peachy and Saxion make the cut here.

34. Cook something you’ve grown
35. Resign by all-staff email
36. Go out shopping in just a Drizabone
37. Catch a fish and eat it that day
38. Brew your own beer

40. Ride a giant rollercoaster
41. Surf and snowboard in one day
42. Build a tree house
43. Take pole-dancing lessons
44. Pash a policeman on New Year’s Eve
45. Do a Roar & Snore at the zoo
46. Give a homeless person your lunch
47. View a house you can’t afford
48. Hire a house boat
49. Go trekking, carrying all your gear
50. Build something that will outlast you
51. Research your family tree

53. Cut your own hair
54. Get involved in a protest rally
55. Make a crowd sign for the cricket
56. Leave a love note on a windscreen
57. Build a giant sandcastle
58. Blow a kiss to a bikie
59. Wear fancy dress for a whole day
60. Spend an hour in a lift

Yes i was stuck in the lift. With my Grandma. Who had Alzheimer's and pressed all the buttons :( Then we got stuck. I was 5.

61. Get your fortune told
62. Make a baby laugh
63. Make a snowman
64. Make love on the beach
65. Help out at a soup kitchen
66. Send flowers for no reason at all
67. Watch the sun rise
68. Watch the sun set

Okay and i've reached 36. Now my Dad's asking me to help out. Ta! Oh wait, i tag anyone who's name starts or ends with an 'A'.

Eee

This looks so dang cool.

Merry Christmas people :)

Oooer

Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve is not that bad. I mean One Utama wasn't really that packed. MM and i found a car park after 5 minutes. Then i forced him to go away so i could FINALLY buy presents. It was such a relief when i saw my cheque had come through. Praise Jeebus Jesus. It IS his day after all. Today was a pain. Seemed like everything was out of stock, no size, sold out etc. I must have walked out of Pull and Bear 5 times today. I also just finished wrapping MM's present, and he bought me some pants just now. They're a little tight. Must lose butt. It has no purpose except for being a natural cushion.

I went to MPH to buy a book too, but it was SOLD OUT. My God. How can you be sold out?! There were only two copies yesterday. Don't you have a stock room? This is why Borders > MPH. I love Borders. In fact, i think the first time i went to Borders was in Singapore, during Christmas. My parents took me down. It was around 1999 or 2000. I think that was my first time in Singapore too. Remember, i only moved to Malaysia in 1998. So we had just settled down. Anyways. So my parents took me for a walk down Orchard, and then i saw it.

A giant, glass cone. Bright lights from within. People milling all around. I remember i loved reading even then. I'd be the kid who had a book all the time. Even now, it's pretty hard to find me without a book. My parents would have to tell me to stop reading at the dinner table. So back to the dome. I pointed and asked my Dad what it was. Then he said: "That's the biggest bookstore in the world."

Okay, i'm not sure if that is actually true. Back then it was still probably the biggest bookstore in Asia. But whatever. Back to the story.

"Wow!" I said (wtf this is like a story now). "I want to go in!"

So in we went. I remember being so dazzled by all the books, the smell and the lights. And it was also the place where i bought my first Harry Potter. Well, technically, my Dad bought the Harry Potters, and we bought the first 3. Because my cousin Aaron in London had sent back the Goblet of Fire for me via my aunt. And i read it, not knowing it was the 4th book. About 3 times. Before reading the others. So that is how Harry came into my life. Anyways. Back to Borders. It was awesome. The best bookstore ever. And you can be sure, that everytime i went to Singapore from then on, i would bug my parents non-stop to take me to Borders. Even after i discovered Kinokuniya at Takashimaya. I would always go to Borders. Like how people always go to Orchard Road.

Therefore, i spent the rest of my holiday reading about Harry every night and making my books more and more dog-eared because i was the kind of kid who bent her books at the spine (oh dear God) and folded the corners of the pages (T_T). Which of course i do not do now, because it leads to books falling apart. Which annoys me. This trip was also the sad demise of my beloved toy dolphin Swimalot. I say demise, because his fur was NEVER THE SAME AGAIN. Traders Hotel should pay. It was nearly 10 years ago now, but Swimalot has never been avenged.

Okay, this is Swimalot.

And this is Boo (TOTALLY unrelated to the story, but he's cute so whatever and he's sort of my replacement for Swimalot).

Okay. Anyways. I'm actually not quite sure exactly where Swimalot's from. I don't remember if he was given or my parents bought him for me. I do remember he was from Hong Kong. Yes i am aware that it is a soft toy but whatever. He was so smooth (back then) and fun to hug. And he smelt nice. Yes he's a guy. Whatever. I took him everywhere and always slept with him. Same way i always sleep with my pink pillow which i stole from Cathay Pacific (okay not stole per se; but more on that later). So anyways, as usual, i brought Swimalot (yes i know lame name but i was 7) with me to Singapore, and slept with him on my sofa bed in the hotel. So in the morning, i would leave him somewhere and go out with my parents. On one particular afternoon, after coming back from walking around, i looked around for Swimalot, and he was not to be found. He was GONE. MIA. AWOL.

I'm pretty sure i started screaming around later, after i searched everywhere, insistent that i had left him on the bed. The housekeeping person usually left him on my bed after she was done, but he wasn't there. After lots of phone calls, it turned out that the person who cleaned out room took the bedsheets for washing. AND SWIMALOT. She took him too! By accident of course. But still.

I spent the rest of the day in zombie mode, worrying that Swimalot was being whooshed around in a soapy metal dungeon, his eyes falling off and him cursing me. The next day when we got back from lunch, Swimalot was sitting on the desk. I picked him up, but he wasn't the same again. His fur had gone all weird and his stuffing was lumpy. Needless to say, i was very sad. And made sure to never again leave things on hotel beds.

Anyways. I met up with Zoe yesterday too, and we talked and shopped and had sushi. So nice seeing her again, but we didn't get to take pictures. Talked about loads of stuff, then went for the Spirit movie preview at Sunway Pyramid, courtesy of Advertlets. Got extra tickets, so MM invited 5 of his friends, and i invited Caryn. I found the movie very weird. Not bad, just odd. Interesting take on the 1950's comic. They cut out lots of little bits which was slightly annoying, but not as bad as Twilight. It was funny at parts too, and Samuel L. Jackson was cool. Near the ending of the movie, the screen went all funny.

See that black part where her dress ends? The thing below is actually the top of the screen. And no one fixed the projector. But it was only for the last 5 minutes. I can't wait! Angie's coming back the day after tomorrow. So cool that we're gonna be roomies next year :) Or more like housies. As the New Year inches closer and closer, it becomes so much clearer that i'm leaving sooner and sooner =/ Ta.

Ballet Shoes.

Ballet Shoes trailer. Starring Emma Watson. I actually really like this film, except it's not widely known. So decided to put it up here. Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon from Harry Potter) is in it too. I found it really cute.

Bleep.

Last night's session at Wabi caused me to conk out around 2 AM, then wake up later at 5. I swear, my biological clock is so messed up, it's not funny. Also, i discovered bruises on my right arm in addition to the skinned knee -_- I am a hazard to myself.

So after talking to MM, i fell asleep again and woke up at 8 AM, slept and woke up at 10 AM; got sick of sleeping and decided to get the hell up. I drank loads of cold water; alcohol always does that to me. Icy cold :) Also got extremely hungry, but of course there was no food in the house because my parents are responsible like that and shop or groceries weekly. Not. So around 12 PM, i finally called MM to wake him up because i was hungering for sushi. Like you do. And of course we went to Sushi Zanmai. I picked him up (what a nice change) and after our sushi session (haha) we strolled around window shopping. It's time for the annual Christmas sales now! But sadly for me, my check will probably not have been processed yet so i have to wait till Monday. And i need new jeans. Badly. The ones i currently live in are very annoying; i have to wear a belt or else pull them up constantly. I have no idea why. They're skinny, and it's not like i've gained/lost weight. Actually i lied. I weighed myself on MM's new scale at his house and it says 50 KG. What is up with that? I was 53 KG for my medical examination O_O Hmmm. And that was only like what, last week? Freaky shit. Must be the lack of food -_- That saves me a trip to the gym.

Where was i? I keep getting sidetracked, sort of annoying. Speaking of which, load this video while you're reading. Very nice and dancey. Exactly why i should be heading to MOS next week. Dance dance dance :) MM got me on this. When you're done with that, listen to Hurricane Jane.

Good right? ANYWAYS. After lunch was MPH of course. I debated about whether i should buy a book on my limited resources, and decided not. Next week. Patience. I'm looking at the Time Traveller's Wife, which i've heard was good. But i'm very finicky about books; i generally hate buying what i don't know to expect. That's why i stick to a few authors. It takes a lot to make me take a risk on a book. Because my bookshelf is collapsing and it really cannot afford to take anymore books.

We poked around the shopping mall, and headed down to the Mac Fair on the ground floor. My Dad's promised me an upgrade for my iPod. Right now i'm hankering for the 2nd generation of the iPod Touch, but i'm a bit irritated at the fact that you can't tap on it with your nails. Like how XiaXue talked about that in her Guide to Life video. It's kinda true -_- I hate getting my screen(s) oily and stuff. I'm very OCD about that. I lovingly clean my laptop screen often too. Same thing with glasses/sunnies. I mean, you can't see anything. There's a layer of crap on top. Ahem. Getting sidetracked again. Yes. So my Dad's replacing my slowly dying iPod Nano (2nd generation, with the aluminium casing; green). I love my iPod Nano, but the top bit's come off and stuff and it's chipped in a few places. Also, i can't watch videos on it. And i've never thought i would accumulate so many songs. I actually got my iPod Nano after my IGCSEs (a. k. a. O-Levels/SPM). It was supposed to be a motivational factor. I was supposed to score all As (HA!) and then i'd get the iPod. As a result of my frequent non-study sessions with my friends (thanks a lot guys -_-) and also a whole lot of procrastination on my part (i get distracted easily, especially by shiny things) i ended up scoring 2 As and all the rest Bs. The 3 As were for English language, Malay and Mandarin for those who are wondering. I took 9 subjects, but 2 of them were split into 2 (hence the English language and literature). Not counting P. E. of course. Which we weren't graded on unless you specialized in it.

Anywhos. I have no idea why (and don't really care hehe) but my aunt decided to give me the iPod anyways. My Dad took me to the shop, and for some reason, i chose green. I distinctly remember the conversation we had with the shopkeeper.

So, which one do you want?
I don't know... I know i want one with the colours! But the black one looks cool.
That's only available for the 8 gig ones. The colours are for 4 gig.

Do you want the black one?

Hmm... Nah. I don't have a lot of songs. (
Such a lie T_T I should've gotten the 8 gig.)
Well here are the colours.
*Takes 4 iPods and puts them on counter.*
The colours are so pretty... And shiny!
*Walks away while his fickle daughter is cooing over the pretty shiny iPods.*

Hmm. I dunno. What do you think?
Well, what's your favourite colour?

It's blue. But i dunno. The blue is really nice, but the pink is hot.

Have you decided yet? The blue one right?

Hmm... Actually i don't think so.

But isn't that your favourite colour?
Wow you remembered O_O It is. But hmmm... *Turns to shopkeeper* Which is the least popular colour?

Green.

Which is how i got my green iPod. And i never regretted it. My sister bought the same iPod as me, only she got blue. In Singapore that is.

Hey, your iPod's blue! I wanted that.
Actually i wanted green but i remember yours is green so i didn't want them to get mixed up.
-_-

Okay. Back to where i was. So we were walking around the Mac Fair testing out the new Nano and iPod Touch. While walking around, we saw a big set up where they were selling general Christmas stuff and soft toys. And i saw this:

I. Want. That. Penguin. SO BAD!!! Eurgh! It was like my inner child (outer child more like) exploded. I was looking at the penguins, then i saw the BIG ONE. It's so cute! They come in three sizes. I was sooo tempted to buy the big one, except it was selling for a ridiculous price. Like RM 250? Around RM 200. But it's soo cute :( And it was the only one which looked good; the rest all had wonky eyes or looked evil. I know. I looked.

See? I even arranged them. Like a little family photo. OMG it's so cute T_T Someone please buy for me? Even the small one's like RM 40 though. And the medium sized one is RM 80. I was there debating for a while. Felt really sad when i walked off. Then off to Cold Storage to buy groceries for dinner. I always get very distracted by supermarkets like Cold Storage, where you can get lots of stuff. Today, i actually found Nerds Rope! I was so excited. The last time i ate Nerds Rope was in Brisbane 2006, when i went for Discovery Trip. Awesome. Please, readers, do not tell me you don't know what Nerds Rope is. Google it. Wait, i'll do it for you. Here. The glorious Willy Wonka creations. Nerds.

They actually used to sell Nerds here. I have no idea what happened though. I know they still do in Singapore (last time i checked) and Gobstoppers too. I'm sooo hungry for them right now. They are DELICIOUS :D Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was an awesome book. I had such a sweet tooth when i was young, so it was my ultimate fantasy land. So i bought that, my yummy mashed potatoes, apple and cranberry juice, Haribo gummy bears and Mi Sedap. MM bought a jar of pesto and angel hair pasta. He made it for me too, because i fell asleep on his bed. And brought it up for me. He tried to wake me up by holding it in front of my face but i was too groggy to get up until he fed me.

So. I'm home now. And i seriously need a massage; i have so many knots in my back and shoulders. And a new manicure. Eurgh. Wow this was a long blog post. In fact, i think i shall end it

here.

Wabisabi.

Was at Wabisabi at TTDI Plaza last night. Here are some pictures.

Confused reindeer.

Guinness was apparently expensive, so no go :( I also sorta fell on steps and skinned my right knee. There was no vomit projectile so no worries. Am awake now and hungry for sushi. Will proceed to get said sushi right now. Currently have money from old job so am quite teh happy. Also, anyone interested in watching The Seven Deadly Scenes with me at KLPac? It's been a while since i saw a play. Also only running until the 28th, so HURRY and call.

Shall go off now. Need new manicure. Christmas is coming soon :)

The Spirit

I'm sure many of you have seen the trailer for The Spirit. I'm pretty sure i blogged about it a while back. If you haven't seen it, here it is:

What i love about this movie is the awesome cast. Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Love them both, and they're both playing the baddies in the film.

Scarlett's playing Silken Floss, who's a nuclear physicist and a surgeon. Sexy and smart. Kinda depressing, but hot. I've always fantasized about being evil. It seems so much more fun.

Silken Floss is an interesting name too. Very fluffy and soft for a character who's cold, calculating and manipulative. It's a trait i actually admire in some women; drives them to do better and keep their eyes on the prize. Sort of reminds me of my mom -_- The cold and calculative part i mean. I think i'll dress up as her for Halloween actually. Not too slutty but still sexy. And smart. That's always a plus. And of course she's the only one who can control the Octopus. Another plus. Brains behind the brawn. Women who can control men like that rock. It sort of reminds me of a Sex and the City episode (Season 1, Episode 1 actually), where Carrie talks about women having sex like men. Emotionally detached and the ones in control. It's kind of hot. And gives the fairer sex power for a change. Silken Floss is an example of hot, smart, sexy women who don't have all that emotional baggage and with all the crying and being demanding and sensitivity. I should take tips or something.

Anyways, i'm really looking forward to the movie. It looks really dark and gloomy and mysterious. We need more comic book movies!

Oh noes

Practically all the series i watch are on hiatus/Christmas break. I just watched the season finale of Heroes. I think it's going past it's time =/ Getting a bit too... Hmm... What's the word, save-the-worldy. But yeah, that's the point. Oh well.

I'm much more annoyed that Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives/Gossip Girl are only going to be airing in January. So right now i'm alternating between Dirty Sexy Money and Sex and the City Season 3. Dirty Sexy Money is quite nice. Anyways.

I'm going to pick up my last pay cheque tomorrow. Turns out they didn't bank it in, i have to collect it -_- So i'm semi-saved. Depending on how much they're paying me haha.

Well anyways, i was wondering where they get child actors to do television shows like that. Like, are the parents okay with that? Like what about on Weeds, where the kids say 'motherfucker'? Like seriously. And all the sexual innuendos? Wonder if the kids know what they're saying sometimes. Oh well.

False alarm.

False alarm, false alarm. My DS isn't being good. It never was. Oh lies, ALL LIES!

Oh, i definitely can play two games that i've never been able to play before. But the same old, same old error message came up when i tried to load the vast other games that i downloaded. Life is so cruel. But however, i am trying this method instead. I'll let you know how it goes.

Nope. Whether you use the new version, or the old version, it stiill fucks up. Royally. So there's no use except to use that arm7.bin patch now :( Which i can't find. Oops, no, it's here. I just Googled for F-Card firmware updates, and my blog popped up as one of the links. Lol. So anyways, just follow instructions as usual. Let's see if it works...

Okay it's patching... Or whatever term you use...

Got the file. Transferring to F-Card...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. USELESS!!!

I'm trying again. It didn't work with Ninjatown, but i am now trying with Syberia, and it's taking a lot longer, so maybe, just maybe.

Nope. USELESS.

Buy a new card people. If you have an F-Card that is.

Success!

Success! The reformatting worked! My DS lives! I can finally play Final Fantasy! I shall now give you this. This video is super cute. It Had To Be You - Motion City Soundtrack.

Nintendo DS Lite

I am trying, yet again, to fix my beloved Nintendo DS Lite which is being a BITCH right now because it won't load/play certain games for some random reason. I thought i'd share this problem i've been having for ages on my blog so that some other poor helpless soul (read: me) can find it and be saved (somehow). I'm using various methods as said by many people in forums, and will record my findings here.

So. The problem. When i download a brand new game from this site (which i will share with you guys because it is SUCKY trying to find a ROM site), i usually just download the files (like you do), extract the needed files, then transfer the files from my desktop to my F-Card. By the way people, that's the card i'm using. I'm using a DS F-Card also known as a DS Fire Link Card. For those of you who don't know (like me in the beginning), there are several cards that you can buy and be using. Here is a list of them. Be careful, as apparently if you download the wrong firmware for your card (e.g. you use an F-Card but you used firmware for a R4) it can screw up your DS. Apparently. I'm not too sure. Too scared to try.

Well my problem is that (i really veered off the tangent there) sometimes when i get a new game (yay!), i can't play it. What happens is that when i load it, i get this error message: Save data could not be accessed. Please turn off the power and reinsert the DS card. I HATE that message. Because when you do what it says, NOTHING HAPPENS. So anyways. I Googled that shit up (like you do) and there was a bunch of stuff there. Very annoying to sift through. The first thing i did was try to update my firmware, like how MM told me. I have done that, and nothing happened. Or maybe i just didn't do it properly, i dunno. To do so, just Google your DS card's name (e.g. R4, M3) followed by firmware update. A bunch of stuff should pop up; it's up to you to find out which one is reliable. Follow their instructions CAREFULLY.

So. That didn't work out for me. So right now, i'm trying this thing here.

1. Push and hold "Start" + "Select", turn on DS. Do not let go the two buttons.
2. While pushing the above two buttons, tab "F-Card" button.
3. The Format Menu will show up on the top screen.
4. Do Full Format. Scroll down w/ the "down arrow," then push "A" to select.
5. It will start formatting. Full formatting takes a while to finish.
6. Once it's done, you can drag and drop the xmenu and all your favorite ROM files into the "removable disk."
7. Enjoy!

Formatting my DS. It's taking quite a while, as it should. So i'll let you know when it's back on if it works or not. And ta-dah. Only two solutions so far. I would buy a new one, but i have no moneys T_T

tired.

I am tired. So so tired. My parents are arguing outside. Once again. And again, there is NO FOOD in the house and i can't bear to use the RM 50 my Dad slipped me this morning before i went for my job interview so i'll just have to make do with keropok sayur.

Eurgh. 3 more days until Caryn is back. Then i can escape Casa Horifico. Hopefully. I think i will change my blog url soon. I didn't like this name much actually (or at all), just all the ones i wanted were taken. Meh. How annoying.

My Livejournal.

For those of my friends who keep their blogs under "friends only". Coughnevinacough. By the way, i have successfully gone for my medical check up. Don't know if i mentioned it; i remember starting a post and then getting distracted and not finding under my drafts because i changed my settings. Whatever. Long story. So anyways. Was there on Friday; woke up at 10 AM after 3 and a 1/2 hours of sleep (i really don't know how i survive these days) and waited for my Dad to get the car back. Then went to pick up MM and we drove on down to Wisma MCIS Zurich. It didn't take long; an hour tops. There is something ungodly about peeing in a cup. Tiny bottle. Container. Whatever.

And it didn't help that the lights were actually switched off (this weird old guy was in there before me for AGES; he looked really gross and pervy and he was wiping his hands on a towel. Hmm =/) and i took a while to flick them on and off because the switches were being bitchy. I have NO IDEA what was up with them. I mean i'd flick them on... Then nothing happened... Then i tried the other one to no avail. Then i did it again and then decided to press it REALLY HARD and then the lights came on. Gah.

So after the peeing ordeal, went back to the waiting room. MM was alternating between my DS and Reader's Digest magazines. There were also huge plasma tee vees everywhere showing Travel and Living, which was awesome. However, everytime i sat down again (or got close to), someone would call my name to go somewhere else. Which was good but slightly annoying. Meh. So i had my blood pressure taken (it was 104), my weight (53.1 KG) and my height (168 cm) measured. Is that withing the BMI? Lemme go check that now actually.

After that was the x-ray, where i had to press my chest (haha) onto this metal thing (i obviously never paid attention in science) and then the doctor's consultation. Apparently i'm normal. Healthy as a horse. Nothing wrong with my pee either.

Damn this BMI thing is annoying. I have to convert my cm to feet and inches. 1 cm = 0.032808399 feet. Thank God for Google. According to this, i am 5 feet 5 inches. Okay. Then this BMI calculator says... Wtf now i need to convert my KG to pounds. Okay no problem, click here.

Aaaaand... Ta dah! My BMI is 19.4. Here are the categories:

BMI Categories:

  • Underweight = <18.5
  • Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
  • Overweight = 25-29.9
  • Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
I'm glad i'm normal weight :D I used to be underweight. Which reminds me, there's this thing called the Death Clock. I'm sure you've all heard of it at some point. Apparently i'm gonna die on Thursday 9th January 2070. My God. I'll be like... Shit i hate maths too -_- Aha! I'll be 80 years old. That's one year less than when my maternal grandmother died. Interesting. Anyways, the Death Clock site has a list of famous people and how they died here. Very interesting. Here is a shot of Freddie Mercury's house, which looks awesome.

We are the champions my friend.

WTF

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME TODAY SOMEONE HAS TALKED TO ME ON MSN AND SAID: "HI PEACHY! I'M DRUNK!"

THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE WORLD.

It's nice

It's nice to be so happy and carefree. I miss the high school days; when we thought studying was hard. Obviously, i need to travel back in time and whack my 12 year old self on the head. With my hardback English literature books that cost a bomb.

Anyways.

Just got back from One Utama from my non-dinner with MM. Meaning he had dinner, and i sat around and played my DS. Which equals to me starving right now and munching on dried mangoes that i found in the fridge. I think i've nearly finished the packet; there's nothing else to eat at home.

Damn, there it goes.

Aruna's getting back tomorrow; Maddie on Monday from Singapore; Caryn from New Zealand on Wednesday at 10 PM and Angie on the 26th from Singapore (where she is headed for tomorrow). So there's my whole holiday schedule right there. Friends friends friends among work work work (hopefully) because I HAS NO MONIES. I checked my balance today, and it seriously read RM 34.20. Or some shit like that. And i withdrew RM 20, so it now reads RM 14.20. I applied for two retails jobs while at One Utama tomorrow, and am already trying to figure out if i can buy any clothes anytime soon, because if anyone needs retail therapy, is it ME. My account balance didn't stop me from buying a pair of RM 10 flip flops today either.

Also, i need to get shitfaced, and i heard alcohol is pricey, so there you go.

SHITFACED. Seriously. I need that. I will not take tipsy for an answer.

Have not heard back from the ad agencies i applied to (two), and feel like /wrist. Also very disappointed; was sort of looking forward to it. /krai. I am feeling very sad lately, and need people to take care of me (financially, har har, no just kidding, well not really, but a job would be nice esp. if i can earn RM 10K a month and they give me an allowance). I am depending on Caryn to be my clubbing buddy since i badly need to get shit off my chest and Madeline retired so that sucked. Also for her to be my shisha buddy since MM hates it and Maddie doesn't come to Hartamas often and all my other friends seem to have fallen off the face of the Earth.

I'm also feeling very guilty because i told MM i wouldn't see him because of my financial crisis (lololol) and would see him only at Christmas where i can proceed to get shitfaced at his place, which caused him to be very sad and offer to pay for me for everything and get me a job.

Which is bad, because i don't really like relying on him like that; we didn't start out that way, and i don't see why we should start now.

I did say that i would like some RANDOM PERSON (meaning not you reading this right now cough cough) to donate money to me ANONYMOUSLY. But yes. I would like that. Right now, joining Malaysian Dreamgirl seems to be very appealing to me because the prizes include a car (Chevrolet) and RM 10K cash and a tonne of products but then again, i have the big fat scar on face and not to mention that it's for 10 weeks and it starts on Jan 10th 2009 and i'll be flying to Brisbane on the 15th Feb and there's no way i could win but i would have nothing to lose. RM 10 K :(

I will go /wrist right now and cry to my father about how he expects me to support myself when i don't get allowance and i have no job.

P. S. I want a book plskthx someone buy for me + alcohol.

3kl5jho98

Yeaaah. Can't really explain how i'm feeling now. Big variety of emotions. But the main one is pissed. Close to that would be annoyed and then tired.

Yes, TIRED of this.

Went for my medical check up today; got everything done. Thank God, and they're gonna upload everything for me. Next up: MyKad renewal. God, being old is a bitch.

I just looked at my manicure and realised that a few of my nails have chipped. Grrr. My stomach is killing me.

Ouch

Am having massive stomach ache right now :(

Saw a cow tied to a tree last night when MM was sending me home. It was grazing on the grass on the side of the road.

Oh my God, is that-? OMG it IS a cow!
Probably for Raya tomorrow.
Oh noes T_T
Poor thing.

Poor cow T_T I was scared of it at first, had no idea what it was. It was so pale and ghostly O_O

Yay

Thank God for Surf the Channel. I finally got to watch Grey's Episode 10. Am now trying to catch up with Ugly Betty, since everything else is out already. Despite my not having slept at all since the day before, i am still not sleepy. Am munching on (more like chewing) coke bottle gummies. Haribo is an awesome brand, although hard to find here (try Cold Storage).

Have tried banging head on wall, banging books and water bottle on head but no radio script will fall out of my ears.

I think i need a hammer.

I...

1. Haven't slept for the whole night; everything seems surreal.
2. Haven't eaten the whole day; i sorta feel like eating now, but not really.
3. Am listening to Joshua Radin. Listen to 'Today'.
4. Have cleared out my Facebook friends. I actually know all those 533 people.
5. Want to go out. Someone call/text please.
6. Want to watch Episode 10 of Grey's Anatomy, but stupid Disney copyrighted it on YouTube and i cant find it anywhere else.
7. Have nothing to read. Want to buy book.
8. Want to go shopping; my jeans are annoying.
9. Wants Ree to finish drawing my stuff :(
10. See it's getting dark; wonder why he hasn't called.
11. Need alcohol.
12. Can't squeeze out any ideas for a radio advert; it's like a brick wall. Annoying. Argh.

Gonna work on #12 right now. Ta.

I loved the Notebook. Too bad they broke up again in real life though -_-

Harry Potter.

Because my life is boring and empty right now, i shall post up trailers of Harry Potter here because the new movie actually looks promising (As promising as it could be) and more action packed than Twilight (Oh my God, did she just say that? I believe i did). Anyways, trailer one.

Trailer two.

Trailer three.

As usual, the music makes me tingle in anticipation. I really cannot wait. Even though i know in some way, they are going to butcher it and destroy the book. And i loved the sixth book; i really do. It's my favourite, then Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows. I used to love the first book, but then the rest got too awesome, and it sort of faded away. I don't like the fifth book much; it's last on my list, coming right after the second book.

But it looks so awesome! Gah. Cannot tahan. Oh, and my copy of Tales of Beedle the Bard will be out the day after tomorrow :) Borders is gonna call me when they get it. That should be awesome. That is actually the only spin-off Harry Potter book i have, which i find slightly amusing, since i'm such a fan. The music soundtrack for the movie sounds good as usual. Too bad the same couldn't be said for Twilight (except for the baseball scene. That was awesome! Muse!).

Meh. Just found this. J. K. Rowling reading the last book. I never really liked book readings. It's kinda annoying, and i read faster than they talk -_- Also, it's the last book O_O I'm not gonna sit there waiting for you to read it first. Ta.

How gay are you?

http://www.channel4.com/life/microsites/G/gayometer/gayometer.html

According to that site, i am 40% gay. Hmmm.

Also, Twilight was sorta disappointing. MM was bored though it, and kept biting me -_-

Ow, that hurts!
Watch your movie! *chomp*

5/10.

Yes, yes, i know i like the book. To be honest, i just like the book, but i love the idea. It was a really, really, good idea. Executed slightly poorly though =/ But it kept me reading, which was the whole point. Where do i start... The movie was good because it DID stay true to the book. Slightly draggy. And it didn't change the storyline much at all. Much. They changed what some characters did, is all. Or, more specifically, just one. I LOVED Alice though. And Jasper. And Emmet, and Esme. I should just list everyone down now -_-

No, but seriously, Alice was really cute, and looked exactly as the book described her (except her hair was brown, not black). They all looked the part, except for Emmet (he's supposed to have curly hair), but i LOVED Kellan Lutz in that role. I finally figured that i saw him in Stick It. Was wondering where i had seen him before. And by the way people, if you're wondering, Esme is Ava from Grey's Anatomy, and she was in the Family Stone as well. Elizabeth Reaser, if you're looking for her name. And James is, as you should know, from the O. C. Volchok anyone?

Moving on. They censored the movie to within an inch of its life. That was really freaking annoying. Because then we were like, eh? What the hell? So maybe watching the DVD is better. Or downloading. Cough. But to be honest, i liked the movie because it opened up the book to a reality. Sort of. It was comforting. And sad. Very sad.

Anyways. Back to my mashed potatoes.

P.S. Desperate Housewives is out!

And
And i sit here
Holding on to the last
Shred of happiness that
I hold dear.

And
And the tears are coming
Because i know
That it will soon be time -
To let
It
Go.

And
And these words are true
And i do mean well
But why does it always end -
In sorrow?

And
And i wonder
Wonder
Wonder -
Which way did i do wrong?

And
And i sit here
Holding on
Because i can't bear to let go
But sooner or later i must.

And when i do, i will -
Die.
